Werner Neuhaus was an important exponent of Expressionism in Switzerland and in 1925, together with Otto Staiger, joined the «Rot-Blau» artist group, which was founded on New Year’s Eve 1924/25 by Hermann Scherer, Albert Müller and Paul Camenisch. “Die Brücke” andErnst Ludwig Kirchner, with whom the painters were in personal contact, had a decisive influence on the group.
