One of the first edition (of 7) of this book (normal edition) with the very rare original dust jacket on pink paper. The cover illustration on the book cover without the purple color plate. The colored original dust jacket with the dash of the “t” in “Bosshart” running only to the right. Dust jacket and Bookcover in the final version.

Alongside Georg Heym’s “Umbra Vitae”, which was created almost simultaneously, Bosshardt’s stories are Kirchner’s second major illustrative work. From 1914 on, Bosshart lived as a freelance writer near Davos. It was here that he met Kirchner, who created the woodcuts for the present edition in 1922.

Very nice copy! Book, contents and dust jacket in very good condition. The dust jacket received fresh colors, with small marginal blemishes. As always, the wood-containing paper on the book pages is slightly browned. Old owner’s note on the flyleaf.

In the 1st edition with the original dust jacket of great rarity.
